Open Lecture “Public Administration and Governance in the United States”
On 30 September 2025, Professor Richard C. Box with the Department of International and European Law of Leonid Yuzkov Khmelnytsky University of Management and Law had the privilege of organizing an inspiring open lecture “Public Administration and Governance in the United States.” The session took the form of an interactive FAQs-style Q&A lecture with our distinguished guest — Professor Richard C. Box, Professor Emeritus, School of Public Administration, University of Nebraska, Omaha (USA).
Key impressions from the event: Professor Box shared valuable insights on governance, reform, and democratic values, engaging directly with students’ thoughtful and probing questions. The FAQ format made the discussion dynamic and authentic, highlighting real-time reflections on complex issues. It was especially inspiring that students actively asked questions in English, showing both confidence and competence — no translation was needed. Professor Box also drew a moving historical parallel, comparing today’s Ukraine to Britain in the early years of WWII: a small nation facing enormous challenges with courage and resilience. The Department of International and European Law is deeply grateful to Professor Richard C. Box for his wisdom, sincerity, and encouragement, and to our students for their energy and engagement.
