SUMMARY OF THE WORK OF THE STUDENT RESEARCH CIRCLE "VERITAS" FOR THE 2025–2026 ACADEMIC YEAR

In the 2025–2026 academic year, the Department of Private Law continued its systematic work on involving higher education students of the Faculty of Law in research activities. An important role in this process was played by the student research circle "VERITAS", which operates at the department under the academic supervision of Candidate of Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Private Law Myroslava Hariievska. The circle's activities were aimed at developing students' research potential, building research skills and critical thinking, and deepening knowledge in civil procedural law and private-law disciplines. An important aspect of the circle's work is the combination of knowledge of substantive and procedural law, which enables students to form a holistic understanding of legal phenomena and to analyse law-enforcement practice effectively. Circle members had the opportunity to work with scholarly sources, analyse case law and discuss current problems of law enforcement and modern trends in the development of civil and civil procedural legislation. The circle addressed a wide range of topical research issues, in particular problems of proof in civil proceedings, including electronic evidence and methods of securing evidence, as well as the abuse of procedural rights and the improvement of judicial proceedings. Special attention was paid to the study of institutions of civil procedural law, in particular the procedural status of parties to a case and of persons who apply to court in the interests of others. Problems of civil liability were also of considerable scholarly interest, in particular compensation for damage caused by animals and compensation for lost profit, as well as consumer rights protection in the case of purchase of goods of inadequate quality. The circle's sessions also discussed problematic aspects of contract law, in particular the essential terms of a land lease agreement, the relationship between a power of attorney and a contract of agency, and the specifics of self-defence of civil rights by parties to contractual obligations. Circle members took an active part in scientific and practical conferences and published the results of their own research in collections of scholarly papers. During the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, the following third-year students of the Faculty of Law presented research papers at the circle's meetings:
1. Viktoriia Pavlivna Bonchuk
2. Olena Olehivna Volkolup
3. Karina Serhiivna Havryk
4. Vladyslav Oleksandrovych Zherebnyi
5. Olena Vitaliivna Kotsiuba
6. Vladyslava Viktorivna Nikiforova
7. Antonina Oleksandrivna Novak
8. Maksym Anatoliiovych Safroniuk
9. Nazar Serhiiovych Solodiuk
10. Albina Valentynivna Shelest
Summing up the results of the academic year, it should be noted that students demonstrated a high level of research activity, interest in current problems of civil and civil procedural law, and the ability to conduct independent scholarly analysis.
